A quiet and restful location with patio and deck spots to sit, and only a few steps to the beach, free wi-fi, and safe parking. A fully equipped kitchen for your convenience, or ask Sandra for recommendations of where to dine out at the cafes or restaurants in the area.

Located in Matarangi 30 minutes from Whitianga’s main attractions, restaurants, and shops, our studio puts you at the heart of the action.
Studio at Matarangi offers places to sit in the serene garden, shady decks and a great little barbecue to use. Wifi, a hot shower and fully equipped kitchen complete the picture.
“Perfect for a relaxing weekend get-away or a beach holiday, your privacy and enjoyment are assured when you stay at my studio, an easy walk on flat paths to stunning white silky sands and the crystal-clear waters of Matarangi beach.
Suitable for 1 or 2 people, and located at the desirable ‘Cove’ end of Matarangi, this private, self-contained, light-filled studio has bi-fold doors that open onto decking and a lush garden where you can wind down in sun or shade.
There are a couple of comfy chairs. dining table, a queen bed complete with fresh linen and bedding, and there is a separate bathroom, with a full set of towels, and a fresh set supplied each second morning.
The well-equipped kitchen is suitable for making your own meals, and has a fridge/freezer, and dishwasher for your convenience, along with many cooking options, including an electric barbecue on the deck.
I live on site and work at home, so I am available for assistance or advice most of the time. You will be barkingly greeted by Pepper, my friendly miniature schnauzer who loves to meet new people.”

We stayed in a Studio at Matarangi for four nights from 19–24 December. The studio was located next to the owner’s house, but it was very private and peaceful. Everything we could think of was provided, making the stay extremely comfortable. Our host, Sandra, was brilliant—very welcoming and always up for a friendly chat. The studio is fully self-catering, so bring all your food supplies, or purchase right here at Matarangi from our handy mini-supermarket just down the road. You can also get all your favourite tipples at a shop nearby.
Fresh bedding, linen and towels are all supplied. Bring your beach gear and swim towels, and bathroom gear.
Bring your golf clubs if you like a round, or tennis rackets and play any one of many courts a short stroll away.
Bring your boat if you have one. Launch here at Matarangi or at nearby Kuaotunu. There’s room to park on the verge in this quiet street.
There is a 2-night minimum for most of the year. A 3 or 4 night minimum applies for holiday weekends and during peak seasons. Please ask.

There is a full refund on any booking cancelled 14 days or more ahead of a stay, or when a natural disaster or other event makes the stay impossible, or if the host is forced to cancel due to an unavoidable event.
A partial refund will be paid 8-13 days ahead of the stay.
Sorry, no refund if the booking is cancelled 7 days or less ahead of a confirmed stay.
